Looks like you’ve stumbled upon a little nugget of early internet goodness in the form of the Barons Hed Fireworks Show!

Back in the rich ol’ year of 1997, LucasArts released a computer game called Jedi Knight: Dark Forces 2. A young Jessica would hang over her brother’s shoulder as she watched him play through this illustrious polygonal Star Wars game, and eventually picked it up herself…going by the gamer name “Tanya56” and shaping storylines into adventures of her own. And since much of the time played was during summer break, it seemed appropriate to celebrate the Fourth of July…jedi style.

With the help of a few friends, she pulled together some screenshots of gameplay as they constructed a miniature parodical Star Wars fireworks show—complete with pixelated explosions and tongue-in-cheek silliness. Three of these fireworks shows were created on rudimentary webpages, and thus the Barons Hed Fireworks Shows were born!

So peruse these little internet relics to your leisure…if you are familiar with the Jedi Knight games and gaming of the late 90s/early 2000’s era, I hope it brings back some fond nostalgia. And if you are new to it all, I hope you smile at the discovery of something silly, lighthearted, and the feeling of being a kid again. :)
